The Thief of Bagdad is a simple, but engaging story set in Arabic times. It imitates the setting of Aladdin, and there are many parallel to the characters of Aladdin. I liked the simplicity of the story, and the comedic moments that were surprisingly funny. I liked how Aladdin and Abu’s friendship is deep and how they are so loyal to each other. The scene where the King rides off into the sky on a horse was very…special. Imaginative. The story is told in a way of a beggar revealing his past in the form of a story, and how he was cheated of his title as King Ahmad, and how his best friend was turned into a dog. He is blinded, and never meets the love of his life ever again. The story stops at a crucial moment when his love is going to be married off to Jaffar, the evil king who is behind all the bad deeds. Hopefully, Ahmad can stop Jaffar and marry the love of his life, with Abu by their side.
